Below are the steps to follow to get a network connection working with the VMware Host and ESET Smart Security 4 firewall, when Bridged Networking is set. 1. Open the main program window by clicking Start -> All Programs -> ESET -> ESET Smart Security. 2. Press the F5 key to open the Advanced Setup window. 3. From the Personal Firewall tree on the left, Click IDS and Advanced Options, and then select Allow communication for bridged connections from the Allowed Services tree. I have been searching for an offline installer for Google Chrome browser. ChromeSetup.exe which is the default file provided by Google will download the full installation file upon execution and install chrome on your machine provided you have internet connectivity. But, when you don’t have internet connectivity on a system or wish to install it later on, then you should download offline installer for google chrome. This is what I needed. It was not that difficult to locate a site with a URL to download the offline installer. Some provide link to download the software from their servers, whilst others point directly to the google site. I personally like to download software from the official site itself if possible. I will be trying out Google Chrome to see how it fares with FF and IE. This is just for my own personal needs. Note: Google chrome offline installer is free from any spyware, adware and malware. Download Google Chrome Full Setup Offline Installer from the link given below. Finally firefox 3.5 has been released on June 30th, the next major version of its popular open source Web browser. I will not be discussing the features available in the new browser as many forums have already done this. I have just installed the browser (over my existing 3.0.x version) and came across an inconvenience which is mentioned below. Tab Mix Plus Not working This Add-on is very important for me and was disappointed a bit. So I checked the forums and installed latest dev build. Unfortunately this didn’t work at all. I went back to the forms to see if I could find some solution for this. There were many people saying that this build did not work. One member had suggested to uninstall the old version first and do a fresh installation. So I took a backup of the profiles directory and completely uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled the new version. Once installed I then downloaded and installed the latest Build . Now I needed to restore my old tab mix settings. Below are the steps I followed
This is all that’s needed to get tabmix plus up and running .. 🙂 I had my passwords synced using xmarks, so all I had to do was install the add-on and re-sync the data back to my local machine. It is unfortunate that I had to do a fresh installation to get tab mix working, but I feel that it is worth it .. and hope this helps anyone who is facing the same problem as I did .. 🙂 Cheers ! |
